Dietitian Steph Grasso, MS, RD is known for delivering digestible TikToks that educate viewers on balanced eating. In her recent skit, Grasso also doubles as an actress, using a megaphone and a dash of comedy to show us how to turn a quick snack into one that will satisfy our stomachs.

When her stomach initially asks her brain for a snack, Grasso ends up reaching for a bag of chips. As Grasso illustrates, the carb flies through her stomach going straight for the intestines.

Still hungry, Grasso’s stomach asks her brain for more food. This time around, her brain directs Grasso to add protein and a healthy fat to her snack. After munching on an avocado toast with eggs, Grasso feels more full because the protein, carb, and healthy fat combo spends more time in her stomach. She’s so sated that she later turned down nachos.

Thanks to Grasso, we now have a visual way to remember the key ingredients for a balanced and satisfying snack (protein, healthy fat, and carb). Time to put this knowledge to use — snack break!
